Tom Sattler is a native of Lincoln and a 1980 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Nebraska Law Review. Prior to law school, he completed a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy in the Republic of Vietnam and was awarded Vietnam Campaign and Vietnam Service medals in 1972.
Tom joined the Lincoln law firm of Knudsen, Berkheimer in 1980, and became a partner in 1984. He left the firm in 1986 to join Norden Laboratories, an animal health subsidiary of SmithKline Beacham, as Legal Counsel. Following the merger of SmithKline and Beecham Laboratories, Tom became Director of Acquisitions and Licensing for the newly merged Animal Health Division -- what was to become the world's largest packaged pharmaceutical veterinary company.
Tom was recruited by Schering-Plough in 1991 to create a worldwide business development function for its Animal Health Division. He managed the division's European operations as General Manager and then as Vice President, Europe.
In 1997, Tom returned to Lincoln, Nebraska to the private practice of law with the Knudsen, Berkheimer Law Firm; and joined Wolfe, Snowden as a partner in September, 2000. His areas of practice include general commercial transactions, and insurance defense, employment and railroad defense litigation. Community activities include the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools as Chairman of the Board, and Director, University of Nebraska Technology Development Corporation. He is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. He is also a member of the Nebraska State, Pennsylvania and South Dakota Bar Associations.
Tom and his wife Roxann have four children. His interests include fishing, bicycling and hiking. |
