A native of Lincoln, Steve received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1975. While attending law school, Steve served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Jeffre P. Cheuvront, District Judge, Third Judicial District.

Steve is a member of the Lincoln, Nebraska State and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all Nebraska State and Federal courts, as well as being admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, International Association of Defense Counsel, Nebraska Defense Counsel Association, Trucking Industry Defense Association, and has been elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Steve has been designated as a Master of the Bar as a member of the Robert Van Pelt American Inns of Court. He is engaged in a civil trial practice, with special interest in personal injury defense, products liability, transportation law, and commercial litigation. Steve has lectured to various legal associations throughout the state of Nebraska in the area of civil trial practice.
